    Disability Sports Northern Territory was established in October 2019, thanks to the Sport Service Provider Grant Funding from the Northern Territory Government, as a key business unit of Disability Sports Australia.

    Disability Sports Northern Territory helps Territorians with disability be more active more often. Promoting sport and active recreation, Disability Sports Northern Territory aim to connect Territorians with disabilities to local active adaptive opportunities through programs like the National Referral Hub and Activate Inclusion Sports Days. We work closely with the NT Peak Sporting Bodies and Community Sports Officers to facilitate more accessible pathways and programs across Territory.

    Families & Schools Together (FAST) NT

    Families and Schools Together (FAST) is a program that focuses on strengthening families by improving their relationships within the family and between families and schools. All families can join a FAST program.

    Baby FAST, Kids FAST and Youth FAST operate across various locations in the Northern Territory. Families attend the eight-week program, which involves coming together once a week and intentionally spending time together as a family.

    Activities may include sharing a meal and undertaking family activities. Participants also have the opportunity to be involved in Parent Group and Kids Time.

    FAST is an evidence based program utilising strengths-based approach and provides training for local community members and agency workers to run the program. Parents are empowered to be the leaders of their families.
