Mission Statement
Playgroup Northern Territory supports young families to learn and grow through play. Our mission is to promote and develop fun, educational experiences for babies and children through community playgroups, and to provide information and support networks for families.
Our Structure
Established in 1980, Playgroup NT has supported young families to learn through play for four decades. We are a not-for-profit organisation managed by a volunteer Board of Governance, and are partially funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services. Playgroup NT is an association member of Playgroup Australia, the peak representative body for playgroup organisations in Australia. Our staff consists of paid employees and invaluable community volunteers.
What We Offer
Playgroup NT offers playgroups that are supported by our staff (supported playgroups), and others that are led by volunteers (community playgroups). There are playgroups held in many locations to suit a wide range of needs, and more information can be found on our About Playgroups page. Members can start their own playgroup by contacting Playgroup NT. Throughout the year, Playgroup NT also hosts open days, workshops and community fun days. Psych Solutions NT is a thriving private practice established in July 2012 by Principal Psychologist Kerry Williams and since that time has provided the full range of treatment and assessment services across the Northern Territory. The practice has also recently expanded to South Australia.

Access via Short Term Therapies Program. Client referral via GP with a Mental Health Care Plan. Eligible clients may access 6 initial sessions and upon completion may be considered for a further 4 sessions to a maximum of 10 sessions.
A referral through the Better Access to Mental Health Care Program, where your GP will develop a Mental Health Plan suited to your needs. Clients referred by this process are able to claim a rebate
Referrals from your Employer or paid through an Employment Assistance Provider (EAP)
Private referrals and paid for by your Private Health Insurer.
Private and full fee-paying clients.

Western Desert Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation (Purple House) runs from its headquarters in a suburban house in Alice Springs.
Purple House’s mission is ‘Making all our families well’. Flexibility and cultural safety are at the centre of everything we do. It’s the ‘Purple House way’.
We now offer remote dialysis, social support, aged-care and NDIS services, and run a bush medicine social enterprise called Bush Balm. And our services are expanding. Since the opening of the first dialysis clinic in Kintore in 2004, we now run 19 remote clinics and two mobile dialysis units called the Purple Truck, which allows patients to head back home to visit family, for festivals, funerals and other cultural business. We are always getting new requests to open dialysis units in new communities and have a number of projects in progress.
