Central Australian Women’s Legal Service (CAWLS) delivers a holistic, culturally safe, trauma informed legal service for women. Our team can help with information about legal issues, legal advice and representation, referral to support services, community legal education and law reform advocacy.
Special concern is extended to women who are affected by domestic violence, living in remote communities or unable to afford access to other legal services.
Our core work focuses on legal advice and representation, however we also provide many additional services. These services include ‘wrap around’ support such as court support, free workshops on ‘Responding to Domestic Violence and Coercive Control’, community legal education, health justice partnerships, mentoring law students, advocacy and submissions on law reform and our recently launched ‘migration advice’ service.
