    Alice Springs Youth Accommodation & Support Services (ASYASS) – On Track

    The On Track Intensive Youth Support Program takes a holistic/case management approach in working with young people, and their families if appropriate. The program focuses on the young person’s transitioning to independence and re-engaging with the wider community, whilst living in a home environment.

    The program:

    • Offers a longer term accommodation option

    • Assists in school and ongoing educational supports

    • Offers one on one support to young people to assist in developing independent living skills

    • Assists young people with their personal development

    • Ensures young people are linked into appropriate health/mental health services.

    • Assists young people to engage in the wider community

    • Arranges involvement in recreational activities

    • Assists young person to develop long term goals

    • Links young person to financial counselling and assist with money management.

    Alice Springs Youth Accommodation & Support Services (ASYASS) – Youth Housing

    The Youth Housing Program provides semi-independent accommodation (up to twelve months) to young people aged 16 to 24.The ASYASS Housing Program currently manages eight properties located across Alice Springs.

    The housing program offers young people, who are unable to reside with family, through case management, the opportunity to re-engage with education, training or to gain employment, as well as to develop and strengthen the life skills (including living skills) required to establish themselves independently.

    Where appropriate ASYASS also supports and encourages involvement with family.

    Anglicare NT – Commonwealth Home Support Program (CSHP)

    The CSHP provides entry level support and practical assistance to older people aged 65 years or over (50 or over for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples) to help them stay at home and maintain their independence. Assistance provided in each region varies but may include assistance around the house,personal care,maintenance,meals,transport,flexible and cottage respite and social support (individual and group activities to keep people connected,healthy and active).

    Anglicare NT – Garrawarra (Managed Accommodation Complex)

    Garrawarra provides transitional accommodation (short to medium-term) to individuals,couples and families experiencing homelessness. We focus on engagement,food security,health and wellbeing,building parenting,life and tenancy skills,connections to support systems,culture and community and planning for the future. Accommodation is provided within a ground level accommodation complex comprised of 2 and 3 BR units /houses. Complimentary activities are conducted on site such as HIPPY,school transport,meal preparation,cultural events and group work. *People must be on the public housing waitlist to be eligible.

    Anglicare NT – Home Care Packages

    Home Care Packages (HCP) help older people with higher care needs maintain independence and continue living in their own homes. HCP’s are for people aged 65 years or over (50 or over for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples) who meet elibility requiremnets. Assistance is tailored to match each persons needs and may include personal care,home cleaning,maintenance,transport,group activities, purchase of mobility equipment or specialist services.

    Anglicare NT – Housing Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI)

    After 4+ years of supporting people through the ‘Housing and Support Initiative‘ (HASI) in the Greater Darwin and Katherine communities, from January 2 2023, Anglicare NT will no longer deliver this service. Please note the provider of the new ‘Housing Support Program’ is the Salvation Army. We wish the Salvation Army well with the new program.

    HASI has made a positive difference in the lives of many people and Anglicare NT would like to thank participants, carers, our staff and stakeholders and in particular Top End Mental Health Services for your contribution to this initiative and the journey from service establishment, implementation, evaluation through to the transition process.  We also acknowledge Department of Health for funding HASI and the guidance provided by members of the HASI Reference Group.

    OutCARE provides accommodation (share houses) and supports people leaving prison to rebuild their lives, reconnect with family and work towards a positive future. This includes helping with immediate practical needs on release, linking with employment, training and community supports and exploring longer term goals.

    ReConnect is a youth homelessness early intervention service. It is free,voluntary and confidential and focused on young people aged 12 to 18 of age (and their families) who have left home early or who are at risk of becoming homeless. We work closely with young people to address presenting issues,sort through family tensions and reconnect with family,school and community.
