    Our accredited Family Dispute Resolution practitioners assist separating couples work through issues such as living arrangements for their children and property settlements. Impartial practitioners provide mediation to help both parties reach an agreement. Family Dispute Resolution is a voluntary process. It is non-adversarial,confidential and inexpensive compared to the Family Court system and can produce quicker results. Child-inclusive sessions may be recommended to ensure the voice of children can be heard – these seesions are conducted by specially trained Child Consultants. *We use a sliding scale to set fees. Let us know if you are experiencing financial difficulties or are on a low income. No-one is excluded. Fees will be negotiated at your first appointment.

    Australian Breastfeeding Association NT

    We aim to provide mothers with practical mother-to-mother support and information, enabling them to establish and continue breastfeeding. We provide breastfeeding counselling through the National Breastfeeding Helpline, 1800 686 268, and through local groups.  ABA groups hold meetings to give friendship, support and information about breastfeeding and other parenting topics. All parents are welcome, whether breastfeeding or not. We hold Breastfeeding Education Classes  for expectant parents. Breast pump hire is available.     Babbarra Women’s Centre

    Cleaning Service

    Women are employed in a cleaning service that is offered to the community.  

    Creche

    Creches create comfortable, safe and healthy places where infants and children are nurtured and respected and the parents feel comfortable about leaving their children. The program assists women who want to study, train or work including CDEP. Creches provide on-site child care while parents or guardians attend programs.  

    Hairdressing Service

    A low-cost hairdressing service is provided for indigenous omen.

    Laundromat Service

    A laundromat service is provided for indigenous women.  

    Nutrition for Kids

    Cooked meals are prepared as material aid for families of infants and toddlers who would otherwise be nutritionally at risk. Mothers of the children participate in the preparation and cooking of the meals.  

    Opportunity Shop

    Provides financial support to the Women’s Centre through the sale of second-hand clothing at affordable prices.

    Textile Production

    Indigenous women are employed in the production of textile goods which are then offered for sale in the Women’s Centre retail shop.

    We also support families with pregnancies after loss, helping to relieve common anxieties.

    Our Support Officers are mobile and can meet clients a various different locations around Darwin, Palmerston and the surrounds.
