    Disability Sports Northern Territory

    Disability Sports Northern Territory was established in October 2019, thanks to the Sport Service Provider Grant Funding from the Northern Territory Government, as a key business unit of Disability Sports Australia.

    Disability Sports Northern Territory helps Territorians with disability be more active more often. Promoting sport and active recreation, Disability Sports Northern Territory aim to connect Territorians with disabilities to local active adaptive opportunities through programs like the National Referral Hub and Activate Inclusion Sports Days. We work closely with the NT Peak Sporting Bodies and Community Sports Officers to facilitate more accessible pathways and programs across Territory.

    Support and information is available for people with Down Syndrome, their families and carers. Community education workshops promote awareness, resources and skills development to students, families schools carers and health professionals in relation to the health and wellbeing of people who have Down Syndrome.

    East Arnhem Regional Council Aged & Disability Services

    East Arnhem Regional Council provides seven communities with Age Care and Disability services (Angurugu, Galiwin’ku, Gapuwiyak, Milingimbi, Yirrkala, Umbakumba, and Ramingining). Eligibility for aged care services is for Indigenous people over 50, non-Indigenous people over 65 and NDIS for people of any age who have a profound disability.

    The Age Care and Disability Services team is dedicated to providing culturally safe, high-quality support. They work closely with individuals, caregivers, family members and stakeholders to ensure all clients/participants receive the best possible care.
