The Health Centre provides 24 hour 7 day a week acute/emergency response through health staff on call and primary health care to the community and surrounding outstations

headspace Alice Springs provides FREE and CONFIDENTIAL services to young people 12-25 years old, for mental health, alcohol and other drugs counselling and a Doctors clinic for physical and sexual health.

headspace values the opinions of young people by seeking feedback from the Youth Reference Group on how we do things to make sure we are aware of what issues are happening locally for young people in Alice Springs. If you want to be a part of YRG call us for an info pack!

Kalkaringi is located nearly 500km south west of Katherine on the Buntine Highway. The health centre is staffed by a health centre coordinator, a permanent doctor, an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, remote area nurses and support workers. It is regularly visited by specialist services and various KWHB program staff. Kalkaringi Health Centre also provides 24 hour acute and emergency care as well as regular services to our health centre at Nitjpurru.

Lajamanu is located approximately 560km south west of Katherine, and 115km south of Kalkaringi on an unsealed road. The Health Centre is staffed by a health centre coordinator, a permanent doctor, remote area nurses and support workers. It is regularly visited by specialist services and various KWHB program staff. Lajamanu Health Centre also provides 24 hour acute and emergency care.

The Murnun Men’s Shed is an initiative supported and managed by Mala’la Health Service Aboriginal Corporation and provides a community hub for men in the Maningrida community to meet.

It operates on a local decision-making structure with a cross-sectional committee including Traditional Owners and Leaders, and an affiliation of engaged volunteers.

The program is staffed by a part-time Coordinator and a part time Youth Worker.

The Murnun Men’s Shed provides opportunities for a variety of activities including:

• The opportunity to connect with other men and enable peer support
• Facilitate positive wellbeing
• Arts and crafts
• Education such as First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Money Management

The Palmerston GP Super Clinic operates seven days per week, 8 am – 8:30 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am – 6 pm Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.

Services offered include:

Chronic Disease Management
Care Planning
Immunisation Clinics
General Health and Well-Being checks; and a range of allied health and other specialist services such as
Dietetics;
Paediatrics;
Podiatry;
Psychology; and
Psychiatry.

General Practice Medicare Rebatable services for DVA Card Holders, Pensioners and Health Care Card holders as well as people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island descent and children under 16 years for General Practice Medicare rebatable services are bulk billed.

All other services may attract a private fee.

Manayingkarirra Primary Health Care Centre provides a Community Controlled Model of service delivery to the community of Maningrida.

We provide primary health care services based on a program delivery model that aims to service gender; demographic and culturally informed health care, including a 24-hour emergency care service.

As a community controlled health service we invest in conversations with stakeholders and community members to address concerns from a public health perspective.

Timber Creek is located approximately 300km west of Katherine along the Victoria Highway. The health centre is staffed by a health centre coordinator, doctor, remote area nurses and support staff. It is regularly visited by specialist services and various KWHB program staff. Timber Creek Health Centre also provides 24 hour acute and emergency care as well as regular services to our health centres at Bulla and Mialuni.
