A community-based legal service practising in planning and environmental law and providing legal advice & advocacy on public-interest planning & environmental law for individuals and groups. The service also provides education for community groups and engages in law reform.
Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT Incorporated
Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT is the peak body for foster and kinship carers providing support, advice and advocacy for carers across the Northern Territory. Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT provides services that empower foster and kinship carers through knowledge, support and advocacy.
Integrated Disability Action (IDA)
The peak consumer organisation for all Territorians with disabilities and for their families or carers. The organisation works to promote public awareness of disability issues, liaises with government on behalf of people with disabilities and provides advice on available services.
Jesuit Social Services

Services provided by Kidsafe NT (Child Accident Prevention Foundation) include advocacy & advice on the safety of children in the home, water and road including;
- community education;
- training presentations & resources including fact sheets, brochures, posters & DVD’s on road safety & general child accident prevention information (eg burns, poisoning, falls etc).
- Equipment for hire includes all types of child car restraints from birth to 8 years to comply with current NT legislation introduced in 2013.
Child car restraints and safety products such as latches are available for sale and a child car restraint fitting and checking service is also available.
Law Society Northern Territory (LSNT)
The Law Society represents and regulates solicitors practising in the Northern Territory. The Society also investigates complaints about professional misconduct and unprofessional conduct or practice by Northern Territory solicitors.
National Disability Services (NDS) Northern Territory
The national industry association for disability services in the Northern Territory. NDS assists members to operate efficient and effective services and to meet relevant industry & government standards through the provision of information and advice, networking opportunities, and access to corporate support. As an independent, membership-driven, not-for-profit association, we work with our members to support and strengthen AOD service delivery for people who experience harmful substance use in the NT. Our mission is to build and maintain a strong, sustainable and culturally diverse Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) sector that works together to reduce alcohol and other drug related harm across the Northern Territory.
Northern Territory Mental Health Coalition (NTMHC)
The NT Mental Health Coalition is the peak body for Non-Government Organisations in the Northern Territory who provide services to mental health consumers and their families. Its members are organisations and its main role is to promote mental health through representing the interests of members and work towards ensuring that Consumers and Carers are provided with quality mental health services.
To provide an effective peak body function by ensuring a strong voice for member organisations and a reference for government on all issues relating to the provision of mental health services in the Northern Territory of Australia.
1.To be representative of member organisations providing mental health services across the Northern Territory.
2.To provide advice and policy input on Northern Territory mental health service provision and any associated challenges to all levels of government.
3.To contribute a Northern Territory perspective on the provision of effective and accessible mental health services to national mental health networks and associated peak bodies.
4.To promote and facilitate, and dissemination and discussion, of contemporary information, government policy positions and initiatives to member organisations.
5.To ensure, where possible within available resources, the provision of sector development services and support to member organisations.
6.To actively network with local and national organisations to promote awareness of the role of the Coalition and issues related to the provision of quality mental health service provision across the Northern Territory.
Northern Territory Stolen Generations Corporation (NTSGC)
NT Stolen Generations was formally incorporated in 1998 to respond directly to the needs and concerns of members of the Stolen Generations, their families and communities through the following:
- Provide emotional support, social wellbeing services and referral service for Stolen Generations members and their families/descendants in the Top End
- Provide inter-generational activities on special occasions as part of a healing and identity strengthening process
- Regularly inform members regarding any National issues affecting the Stolen Generations
- Monitor and work towards implementing the 54 Recommendations from the Bringing Them Home Report
