MacCare Aged and Disability Services
Known locally as MacCare, Aged and Disability Services (previously Home Care) provide care and support to clients in eight MacDonnell Regional Council communities, as well as deliver the School Nutrition Program in five of those locations.
MacCare provides culturally-appropriate services to individuals and families that promote a respect for culture, dignity, social justice and a healthy lifestyle. Our aim is to support each person’s goals, preferences and choices about their life including to remain ‘on country’.
Some of the supports available to our clients include:

- Group activities
- Bush trips
- Toileting and Showering support
- Care coordination and planning

Macsafe Community Safety
Now called MacSafe, MacDonnell Regional Council’s Community Safety program has transitioned from a Night Patrol program to a Community Safety Program.
As a part of the Indigenous Advancement Strategy, MacSafe receives core funding from Prime Minister and Cabinet to deliver Community Safety services in 12 of Council’s remote communities. MacSafe also receives program specific funding from the Department of Health to deliver Alcohol Harm Reduction programs in three communities.

Night Patrol
Our Night Patrol helps to keep the community safe. The team patrols from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am Monday to Friday. Night Patrol staff patrols the Minyerri community living area, 5 km out of Minyerri Community, all the buildings around Minyerri. Their job is to report bad behavior, criminal activity and encourage children to be off the streets late at night and return them safely back to their homes.

Tennant Creek Transport
Tennant Creek Transport “We move People”- Addressing Transport disadvantage in Tennant Creek.
Accredited to Operated Commercial Passenger Vehicles and NDIS registered transport provider.
SERVICES
The association currently operates:
1. Flexible route town bus service –Providing a very affordable service that runs during the day Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm on a fixed route and schedule. Passengers can pay by cash or EFTPOS. Basic Card is accepted. Cost is $4 per day.
2. A Door to Door – Wheelchair Accessible Mini Bus a general door-to-door service open to all members of the public; a service for participants in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)- who have requested direct Transport under their supports and for clients of the Commonwealth Home Support Scheme (CHSP)- frail people over the age of 65 (45 for Aboriginal people) who have been assessed ( My Aged Care) and are eligible for transport assistance.
3. Connect Service – providing transport to or from the Greyhound Coaches arriving midnight and departing 1.30am from BP in Tennant Creek.Read more

Timber Creek Health Centre
Timber Creek is located approximately 300km west of Katherine along the Victoria Highway. The health centre is staffed by a health centre coordinator, doctor, remote area nurses and support staff. It is regularly visited by specialist services and various KWHB program staff. Timber Creek Health Centre also provides 24 hour acute and emergency care as well as regular services to our health centres at Bulla and Mialuni.
