    headspace Katherine is a free and confidential service that can help young people aged 12 to 25 with their mental health and wellbeing. headspace Darwin provides assistance in four key areas: Mental Health,Physical and Sexual Health,Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and Vocational Support. Regular outreach visits occur in specific remote communities within the region. Clinical services are provided by registered allied health practitioners,which include private providers who deliver services under Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) and Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS).

    • alcohol and other drugs
    • physical health

    Anglicare NT – Housing for Young People Program (HYPP)

    The HYPP program is a collaborative initiative reducing the risk of homelessness for young people (18-25 yers of age) transitioning from or who have left Statutory Care (Out of Home Care). Anglicare NT provides the case management / casework support component. Young people are provided with housing through private rentals using a graduated rent subsidy model. Mission Australia secure the housing options and provide tenancy management.

    Anglicare NT – Intensive Youth Support Service

    The Intensive Youth Support Service (IYSS) is for older children / young people aged 10 and 17 years who have come to the attention of Child Protection as at risk of, significant harm. Intensive trauma informed assistance, mentoring and activities are provided to engage, build connections, support school attendance and reduce the risk of further serious physical or emotional harm occurring. IYSS works closely with families to build their capacity to support children through adolescence towards adulthood. *Referrals are through Territory Families, Housing & Communities.

    Anglicare NT – Moving On After Care & Brokerage Service

    Moving On is a post care service for young people 16 – 25 years who have been in Statutory Care (Out of Home Care) for a minimum period of 6 consecutive months. Moving On works with young people/ young adults to assess their needs,develop and act on a plan to help stabilise circumstances,address presenting issues,access specialist supports and plan for the future. Assistance is also provided to eligible applicants to access the Transition to Independant Living Allowance (TILA).

    Anglicare NT – Pandanus (Child Birth Education & Perinatal Support)

    Pandanus is a free,voluntary and confidential youth friendly Child Birth Education and Perinatal support service. It is for pregnant young women and young parents (12 – 25 years of age). Midwives provide one off Child Birth Education (CBE) information sessions,adapted CBE group courses. The Caseworker provides short term case management support,practical assistance,referrals to ongoing assistance and new parent information and connection group sessions. Pandanus promotes healthy relationships,pregnancy awareness,positive parenting and peer support and is guided by a Youth and Professionals Reference Groups.

    Anglicare NT – Resolve Family & Relationship Counselling & Parenting Courses

    Our qualified Counsellors work with families,couples and individuals to explore solutions to personal and relationship problems and other challenges. We use evidence based person-centred,therapeutic,solution focused and strengths approaches. Tailored age and stage appropraite sessions are available for children and young people. Parenting can be hard at times – thats why we offer a range of evidence based short courses including ‘Tuning into Kids and Teens’,‘123 Magic and Emotion Coaching’ and ‘Engaging Adolescents’. Individual sessions and follow up support can also be provided. These courses help make sense of challenges and share ways to make parenting easier,more rewarding and less stressful. *We use a sliding scale to set fees. Let us know if you are experiencing financial difficulties or are on a low income. No-one is excluded. Fees will be negotiated at your first appointment.
