    Moving On is a post care service for young people 16 – 25 years who have been in Statutory Care (Out of Home Care) for a minimum period of 6 consecutive months. Moving On works with young people/ young adults to assess their needs,develop and act on a plan to help stabilise circumstances,address presenting issues,access specialist supports and plan for the future. Assistance is also provided to eligible applicants to access the Transition to Independant Living Allowance (TILA).

    Anglicare NT – Pandanus (Child Birth Education & Perinatal Support)

    Pandanus is a free,voluntary and confidential youth friendly Child Birth Education and Perinatal support service. It is for pregnant young women and young parents (12 – 25 years of age). Midwives provide one off Child Birth Education (CBE) information sessions,adapted CBE group courses. The Caseworker provides short term case management support,practical assistance,referrals to ongoing assistance and new parent information and connection group sessions. Pandanus promotes healthy relationships,pregnancy awareness,positive parenting and peer support and is guided by a Youth and Professionals Reference Groups.

    Anglicare NT – Resolve Family & Relationship Counselling & Parenting Courses

    Our qualified Counsellors work with families,couples and individuals to explore solutions to personal and relationship problems and other challenges. We use evidence based person-centred,therapeutic,solution focused and strengths approaches. Tailored age and stage appropraite sessions are available for children and young people. Parenting can be hard at times – thats why we offer a range of evidence based short courses including ‘Tuning into Kids and Teens’,‘123 Magic and Emotion Coaching’ and ‘Engaging Adolescents’. Individual sessions and follow up support can also be provided. These courses help make sense of challenges and share ways to make parenting easier,more rewarding and less stressful. *We use a sliding scale to set fees. Let us know if you are experiencing financial difficulties or are on a low income. No-one is excluded. Fees will be negotiated at your first appointment.

    Balunu Foundation

    The Balunu Foundation is a not for profit, charitable organisation focused on the healing of Indigenous youth and people and is based in Darwin, Northern Territory. In particular, Balunu seeks to instill a cultural identity among Indigenous youth at risk through a culturally appropriate healing program which builds self belief and self esteem whilst assisting Indigenous youth to overcome the wide range of challenges they face as young Indigenous people in today’s society.

    Balunu is focused on addressing the social challenges faced by Indigenous people and youth through a healing centred engagement approach. Although the program is Indigenous specific the program has achieved great success with non Indigenous youth who have attended the program.

    Through a deliberate and purposeful program Balunu aims to provide hope for Indigenous youth and families by breaking the cycle of disadvantage through good health, education, life skills, opportunity, training, employment and most importantly healing. Identity plays the most crucial factor in strengthening the youth’s sense of self and the healing allows for the individuals to free their pain enough to take advantage of opportunity that exists to move forward in the new world, whilst maintaining a strong connection to culture and identity.

    Bushmob

    BushMob was developed to help young people in the Northern Territory aged 12-25 who are experiencing issues with alcohol, drugs and sniffing.

    BushMob operates a 20 bed residential facility as well as  providing outreach and support to young people and families.

    BushMob runs a residential program in Alice Springs for young people wanting to get their lives back on track without alcohol, drugs or sniffing. The program allows each participant the option of a support person who can stay with them for a few days when they begin the program. The program requires the participants to undertake alcohol and other drug assessments, receive medical checkups and receive counselling. The BushMob residential program is a very unique program, tailored to meet the needs of young people living in Central Australia.

    Outreach Bush Adventure Therapy Program

    An early intervention program providing weekly, overnight & two-week adventure bush trips & camps for groups of 8 to 30 young people 12 to 25 years old. The programs focus on preventing youth homelessness; drug, alcohol & sniffing misuse; and disconnection of young people from their schools, families & communities. Program areas include skills development, self-discovery, counselling, team work, bush walking, swimming, rock climbing, caving, camel or horse treks, four-wheel driving, cooking & mechanics.

    Outreach Intensive Support Programs for Young People

    Support programs are provided for disadvantaged youngpeople 12 to 25 years old who are at risk of engaging in the misuse of alcohol, drugs or sniffing substances.Support available includes 24-hour care in residentialaccommodation, case management, counselling, briefintervention, life-skills development and education & training programs. After-hours telephone contact is available. As an independent, membership-driven, not-for-profit association, we work with our members to support and strengthen AOD service delivery for people who experience harmful substance use in the NT. Our mission is to build and maintain a strong, sustainable and culturally diverse Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) sector that works together to reduce alcohol and other drug related harm across the Northern Territory.

    CAAPS Healthy Families Program

    CAAPS is a community controlled Aboriginal Corporation that supports people and families through services that reflect our values of caring, openness, respect and empowerment.  CAAPS Aboriginal Corporation delivers a range of important community services to people and their families in the Northern Territory.

    CAAPS is the largest not-for-profit family-focused residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation centre in Northern Australia.

    Healthy Families Residential Rehabilitation Program

    24-Hour residential service.

    A twelve-week residential treatment program providing services to primarily Aboriginal people and their families who are suffering the impact of alcohol or other drug use. The Healthy Families program provides individuals and families with a safe and supportive environment to address substance use issues. The program is made up of a range of education sessions and activities that cover substance use, healthy lifestyles, livelihood, cultural sessions, trauma and healing, and family relationships including parenting.

    Supported accommodation is provided in Dolly Garinyi Hostel for clients undertaking the treatment program. Families and individuals are offered case management and care planning, counselling, initial health screening, life skills development such as caring for self, cooking and nutrition, budgeting and tenancy support.

    The Children’s program supports parenting skills development and school readiness for youngsters up to pre-school age. School age children attend local schools during their stay. The program helps children and young people deal with their feelings about having family members who misuse substances and learn skills to assist in keeping themselves safe, including protective behaviours.

    Self referrals are welcome. Non-residential Day programs are also available.

    A sliding fee scale can apply. Fees can be waived if financial hardship.
