Kalano Community Association, an Aboriginal organisation, was established to meet the varying needs of the Aboriginal community, its members and their families within the Township of Katherine and its environs.

Our program engages young people ages 5-25 across our region, delivering regular youth program in Amoonguna, Areyonga (Utju), Docker River (Kaltukatjara), Haasts Bluff (Ikuntji), Hermannsburg (Ntaria), Imanpa, Finke (Aputula), Kintore (Walungurru), Mount Liebig (Watiyawanu), Papunya (Warumpi), Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte)Â &Â Titjikala.
We deliver activities that engage young people in sport and recreation, cultural learning, health education, leadership development, safety and diversion & support to engage with engage with education, training and development.

Melaleuca Australia – Reconnect Youth Services
This program provides a wide range of support services for young people aged 12 – 21 years of age from refugee, humanitarian and migrant backgrounds who:
- have arrived in Australia in the previous five years on humanitarian and/or family visas; and
- are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Reconnect Youth aims to assist young people to stabilise their living situation and improve their level of engagement with family, work, education, training and their local community.
Melaleuca Australia has been appointed and is funded by the Department of Social Services as a Specialist Service Provider to coordinate and deliver the program.
Central to our service delivery is a strong emphasis on culturally appropriate support strategies and the engagement of specialists to address the individual needs of our clients, such as mental health services.

Mission Australia – Missionbeat – NT
Missionbeat NT is a mobile outreach service providing support to young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness, disengagement and mental health issues in Darwin, Palmerston and surrounding regions. Operating on Friday and Saturday nights, our Missionbeat youth workers engage young people in places where they meet. The service offers brief interventions, engagement and direct referrals to services, with ongoing case management provided by Mission Australia’s complementary local programs.
