The Top End Women’s Legal Service (‘TEWLS’) is a not-for-profit, specialist women’s legal service focused on the advancement of women’s rights. We provide integrated, holistic, trauma-informed and culturally secure free legal and support services to women, and persons identifying as women, living in the Top End of the Northern Territory (primarily, the Greater Darwin region).

TEWLS provides services in the areas of family, migration and civil law, with specific expertise held in respect of domestic, family and sexual violence. TEWLS also provides community legal education and input on law and policy development to redress power imbalances and address violence and gender inequality.

TEWLS services regional, rural and remote communities, including daily in-house clinics, on-site clinics at women’s shelters and the Darwin Correctional Centre, and specialist community services.

TEWLS’ service model means that a client can access legal assistance from a single point of contact in multiple areas of law, reducing trauma and increasing efficiency and costs-savings for funding bodies, with specialisation in clients with intersectional vulnerabilities.

Provides sport and recreational opportunities for adults, young people and children over 9 years old with intellectual, psychiatric or physical disabilities or acquired brain injury. Services include adult group programs, youth programs and individual programs that assist with gaining access to chosen sports.

Programs focus on developing independence.

NRL Touch Football Australia – NT is the Peak Sporting body for Touch Football in the NT.

Tracks Dance Company is located in Garamilla (Darwin) on Gulumerrdjin (Larrakia) Country in the NT and produces original and contemporary dance works that celebrate the place and the people who call the Northern Territory home. A multi-awarded centre of excellence, Tracks is a hub of expertise in community dance built on an extended history of trusted community collaboration. Tracks is an innovator, developing Australian dance that values and utilises a diversity of dance practice.

Tracks Dance Company celebrates the Northern Territory of Australia through: People – their stories, truths and diverse heritage; Place – Darwin with the deserts of Central Australia to the south, and the tropics of South East Asia to the north; Spirit – the vitality of a living culture enriched by traditional and contemporary life.

Tracks creates original performance works about the place we live. We run blocks of classes, Grey Panthers seniors dance group, Dance Development courses, and loads of participation opportunities. We also work in the remote community of Lajamanu.

Tracy Village Cricket Club strives to provide opportunities for everyone (men, women, boys and girls) in our community to participate in healthy, safe and inclusive cricket activities in a fun and family orientated environment. The club is managed by dedicated volunteer staff, all of whom tirelessly provide their skills, time and assistance to ensure the club can offer a variety of structured programs.

We continue to work with the Tracy Village Social and Sports Club, the Northern Territory Government, NT Cricket and Cricket Australia as well as the wider community regarding improving facilities and increasing participation in our sport.

Tropics Early Learning is an early learning centre where children are nurtured to learn and thrive through play-based programs that are individualised to the child’s needs. We are a welcoming community where everyone belongs.
We provide care and education for child aged between 6 weeks and 5 years, from 7:00am through to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, for up to 90 children.
Age groups:
• Babies: 6 weeks to 18 months
• Toddlers: 18 months to 2 ½ years
• Kindy: 2 ½ years to 3 ½ years
• Preschool: 3 ½ to 5 years
We provide Nutritious meals throughout the day for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, the menu for each week is displayed in the foyer. We welcome feedback and input into our menus, please let us know if you have any suggestions.

Turning Point is a national addiction treatment centre, dedicated to providing high quality, evidence-based treatment to people affected by alcohol, drugs and addictive behaviours, integrated with world-leading research and education.

Turning Point has been providing telephone support services and education and training to health professionals for over twenty years.

Community Services Statement

The Northern Synod endorses the Uniting Church in Australia’s commitment to the people of Australia by supporting individuals, families and communities through effective social policy, advocacy and community service provision.

The Northern Synod commits itself to strongly supporting and working with Somerville Community Services Inc, Aboriginal Resource and Development Services Inc., Congregations and Frontier Services. Synod believes it is important to continually explore other areas of community need.

Social Justice Statement

The Northern Synod supports the Uniting Church in Australia stance on social justice issues. We believe God brings justice to the oppressed and calls on people of faith to care for the strangers and aliens in their midst as they care for each other.

Jesus calls us to be a neighbour to those who are victims of violence, persecution, and poverty. Caring for our neighbour in need is a response to the grace of God.

Jesus reminds us that our love for him is to be expressed in our actions toward each other.

The Gospel calls us to help those who are in need including outcasts and strangers, those who are sick or homeless, and those who are in prison. Our righteousness before God is determined by how we treat these vulnerable people.

The Corporation aims to promote the development of the Aboriginal people and homeland communities.

Variety – the Children’s Charity supports kids and families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with Special Needs. Our work allows kids to gain mobility, to get out and about in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem. We make sure the kids who miss out, can always join in.

Venture Housing Company is a not-for-profit registered Tier 1 community housing provider, established in 2011.

Venture owns and manages 582 social and affordable homes across Darwin, Palmerston and Tennant Creek districts in the Northern Territory. Venture’s vision is: “Thriving Residents and Connected Communities” and its purpose is “Creating Futures through Affordable Housing”.

Venture has a strong focus on providing affordable housing options for low to moderate-income earners who may be experiencing housing rental stress in the private rental market, who may need social support, and may struggle to find a home. A significant proportion of Venture’s tenants are key workers vital to the Territory’s economy, such as those in education, retail, community services, and hospitality and trade sectors.

As an approved National Rental Affordability Scheme provider Venture Housing currently has 181 NRAS incentives on its homes, as well as managing 57 homes for private investors who own affordable housing in Darwin and Palmerston.

We are a not for profit organisation representing the veteran community of the Northern Territory.  Our core values are to:

• promote veterans and families health and well-being 

• provide compensation and welfare Advocates who work in the Community of Practise

• represent Territory veterans at NT Government level

• support local schools and other community groups

We welcome veteran visitors from interstate to all of our meetings and events.
