About Movement Matters Therapy

At Movement Matters Therapy, we provide a holistic approach to quality health care through utilisation of Exercise Physiology services to help improve the health and wellbeing outcomes and quality of life for individuals and communities living in rural and remote Australia.

We bring individualised, gold standard quality health care to individuals, and work with the person, listening and learning how to best serve their needs and assist them to help reach their goals. We believe that through prescription and delivery of individualised and specifically tailored Exercise Physiology programs and lifestyle change; tremendous positive outcomes can be made for both children and adults within the community.

Nicholle, our Exercise Physiologist specialises in designing, delivering and evaluating safe and effective exercise and movement interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

Jac our Paediatric Physiotherapist is passionate about optimising functional capacity and long-term outcomes for each client by using postural and movement analysis to develop specific movement patterns (including facilitated and active assisted movements) to improve neural pathways and increase muscle tone and strength at all levels of ability.

Jac also has experience with the following therapy modalities:
– Hydrotherapy
– Respiratory management
– Postural management
– Paralympic sport
– Equipment prescription including wheelchairs, specialised strollers, standing frames, mobility aids, gait trainers/ walkers, seating systems, therapy equipment and hydrotherapy equipment

Some conditions Jac works with include but are not limited to: Cerebral Palsy, Neurological conditions, medically complex children, rare genetic disorders/ undiagnosed disabilities, Muscular Dystrophies, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Global Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, ASD, FASD, as well as children and young people that have vision and hearing impairment in addition to complex disabilities.
