The Tjungu team provides support for people to live in their communities so that family relationships and spiritual connections with country can be maintained.

We offer practical help for everyday living; such as obtaining specialist equipment, bedding and clothing. We also help to coordinate care and make referrals for financial assistance.

    Advocacy

The Tjungu staff listen to people’s needs and concerns and offers them support to help solve problems. Where common issues arise, we have discussions with government and other service providers to advocate for clients and carers’ needs.

    Development

The Tjungu team works with people on the NPY Lands who are interested in becoming disability workers. We can assist with pre-work checks and introduce them to disability & aged care support work.

We now offer remote dialysis, social support, aged-care and NDIS services, and run a bush medicine social enterprise called Bush Balm. And our services are expanding. Since the opening of the first dialysis clinic in Kintore in 2004, we now run 19 remote clinics and two mobile dialysis units called the Purple Truck, which allows patients to head back home to visit family, for festivals, funerals and other cultural business. We are always getting new requests to open dialysis units in new communities and have a number of projects in progress.

Relationships Australia – Family Dispute Resolution

Family Dispute Resolution, also known as family mediation, helps separated or divorced couples to reach agreements around their children, money or property. Mediation is an alternative to going to court. Reaching an agreement without going to court can save parents or couples a lot of money, time and stress.

    Parenting

Family Dispute Resolution is available for parents, carers and other family members. It’s a chance to talk about the children and discuss future parenting arrangements. We help people to talk with respect and focus on what the children need. We can also offer a Child Consultation to assist parents with their decision making.

    Property

We can also help separated couples discuss their money, debts and property. You do not need to have children to get help with property issues.
