Council currently offers two Community Libraries for its residents and visitors to use.
They are located at Adelaide River Primary School and Batchelor Institute.
Quiet reading corners are available should you wish to avail yourself of the air-conditioned comfort, we also offer internet access, iPad and computer lending, Knit & Knatter and Craft sessions (check with your local library first for details).
Both libraries operate under an agreement between Coomalie Community Government Council and the library owners – Adelaide River School and Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education (BIITE).
The Adelaide River library has a vast collection of World War 2 books, with several relating to the Coomalie areas activities during the war. These have been donated over many years through our ANZAC Dawn Service.
To ensure adequate supervision of children the below rules are applicable at each Community Library, these rules have been determined in conjunction with the Adelaide River Primary School and Batchelor Institute policy.
