    Timber Creek Health Centre

    Timber Creek is located approximately 300km west of Katherine along the Victoria Highway. The health centre is staffed by a health centre coordinator, doctor, remote area nurses and support staff. It is regularly visited by specialist services and various KWHB program staff. Timber Creek Health Centre also provides 24 hour acute and emergency care as well as regular services to our health centres at Bulla and Mialuni.

    Regional Children’s Services operates four programs across 3 communities, these include:

    • Flexible Long Day Care Centre at Wurrumiyanga – Jirnani Child Care Centre
    • Two Crèche Services at Pirlangimpi Crèche and Milikapiti Crèche.
    • Outside School Hours Care at Wurrumiyanga, Pirlangimpi and Milikapiti
    • Vacation Care at Wurrumiyanga, Pirlangimpi and Milikapiti
    • Families as First Teachers (Wurrumiyanga only)

    The programs provide activities that nurture and strengthen child development through quality learning, quality environment and quality practise. Each program implements a Quality Improvement Plan under the regulations of the National Quality Standards.

    The Families as First Teachers is a transition program from home to school that supports and strengthens families’ knowledge around Early Childhood development for children from birth to preschool.

    Victims of Crime NT

    We provide information, crisis counselling and referrals for other support services to any victim of crime, past or present.  We can also assist in the preparation of documentation such as Victim Impact Statements and applications for financial assistance where victims are eligible. When necessary we will also advocate on behalf of a victim of crime to other agencies such as police, government and non-government agencies. VoCNT are also able to offer support to victims of crime participating in Youth Justice Conferencing and Youth Diversion Programs.

    Court Services For those victims feeling traumatised or overwhelmed by the court process we can provide a support person to accompany them to court.

     

    Safe at Home Program This program is targeted towards Territorians who are most at risk of unlawful entry or domestic violence and/or personal crime in local and remote communities by assisting to improve the security of their homes or housing.

     

    Restore, Recover and Protect Program This Program is designed to assist victims of crime financially to re-secure their property following an unlawful entry. Please contact our service regarding eligibility for the program.

     

    Public Education We can provide public education on issues related to victims of crime including presentations, workshops, seminars and media interviews.

    Victoria Daly Regional Council – Remote School Attendance Strategy

    The Remote School Attendance Strategy (RSAS) is an Australian Government initiative funded by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. It is designed to lift school attendance levels in specific remote communities by employing local RSAS Teams to support parents, guardians, carers, community members and students to help get children to school every day and to work cooperatively with families, community members and schools to put in place strategies to support school attendance.
