    We provide confidential, non-clinical, non-financial support to anyone who has lost a child from conception to 18 years.  This loss can be through miscarriage, stillbirth, termination, SUDI (Inc. SIDS, sudden illness, youth suicide and accidents.

    We also support families with pregnancies after loss, helping to relieve common anxieties.

    Our Support Officers are mobile and can meet clients a various different locations around Darwin, Palmerston and the surrounds.

    Support can be face to face or via the use of technology.

    TESIAT is funded by NT Department of Health to provide suicide intervention and awareness training at a subsidised rate to government and non-government agencies, the general public and targeted communities across the Top End of the Northern Territory.

    • training programs are developed by LivingWorks Education Inc. and are one of the most widely used suicide prevention training programs operating in over 12 countries
    • program offers both the skills based 2 day LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop and a half day Suicide Awareness session SafeTALK
    • trainers use standardised and regularly revised material
    • workshops are conducted regularly

    Anti-Discrimination Commission – Community Visitor Program

    The NT Community Visitor Program is an independent service located in the Anti-Discrimination Commission.

    Its aim to ensure the rights of those being treated for mental illness or disability are upheld and their views and concerns are heard.

    Community visitors are people employed by the CVP who regularly visit Mental Health Inpatient facilities and Disability Secure Care facilities to ensure an appropriate standard of care.

    The Community Visitor Program (CVP) provides monitoring, complaint resolution and advocacy services for people detained and receiving care under the Mental Health and Related Services Act 1998 and Disability Services Act 1993. The CVP also makes and monitors recommendations on systemic issues such as interpreter use and seclusion reduction.

    Bereaved by Suicide Support Group NT

    BBSSGNT is a suicide bereavement support group for persons over the age of 18 years who have been impacted by suicide loss of a family member, friend or work colleague.  Postvention support (support after suicide) is Prevention. For every incident of suicide, research indicates that at least 135 persons are affected by each incident. This equates to approx half a million people nationally in Australia alone.  The BBSSGNT is an initiative by SabrinasReach4Life based in Darwin.

    Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of every month between 6:30pm to 8:30pm @ Harry’s Place, 1 Willeroo Street in TIWI.
