The Darwin Medicare Mental Health Centre is a free, welcoming and inclusive space where adults in the Darwin community can access mental health, social, and emotional wellbeing support. We provide immediate, short‑ to medium‑term care delivered by qualified mental health professionals and peer support workers, many of whom bring valuable lived experience.
Anyone can walk in—no appointment, referral, Medicare card, or residency status is required. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, experiencing distress, seeking support for the first time, or worried about someone you care about, our team is here to listen and help. Services are offered in a calm, safe, and non‑judgmental environment designed to make you feel heard, supported, and understood.
At the centre, we offer:
Immediate mental health support for people experiencing distress
Clinical assessment, treatment, and wellbeing support
Connections to longer‑term free or low‑cost services tailored to your goals
Support for carers, families, and loved ones
A collaborative approach where you receive guidance from experienced clinicians and trained peer workers every step of the way
Located at 16 Scaturchio Street, Casuarina, the centre operates extended hours, including evenings and weekends, ensuring the community can access support when it’s needed most.
