Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Womens Council – Child and Family Well-being Service Services

The Child and Family Wellbeing Service works with children and families to address barriers that affect child, family and community wellbeing. We support families’ capacity to care for children who are considered at risk.

Child Nutrition Program

The Child Nutrition Program uses a holistic approach to support families to care for the health of their young children (0 – 5 years).

The program works with parents, families and the community to address factors that can impact on a child’s growth and development.

The Child Nutrition Program also works with community stores in the region to develop and discuss healthy food options and policies.

Referrals for support are received from many sources including hospitals, community clinics, child protection agencies and families.

Child Advocacy

The Child Advocacy Program support families in the NPY region to better understand child protection issues and legal process.

The program provides advocacy and support to families where children have been removed including navigating legal services, access visits and reunification.

Walytjapiti (family) Program

The Walytjapiti Program is a voluntary service supporting families with children aged up to 18 years.

Integrating Anangu world views and child-rearing practices, we build on the family strengths to keep children safe, happy and protected within their communities and culture.

We deliver Child and Family Intensive Support (CaFIS) through trauma informed, therapeutic case management.

Referrals to the program can be received through statutory child protection workers, community-based agencies and members of the community.
