Flinders University is addressing the health work force gap in rural and remote areas, by offering aspiring rural medical professionals the opportunity to study the four-year Flinders’ Doctor of Medicine (MD) course in the Northern Territory, as part of the Northern Territory Medical Program (NTMP).
Places are for applicants who are prepared to work in the Northern Territory for at least two years after graduation.
The Northern Territory Medical Program commenced in 2011, with a group of 24 students enrolling in their first year of medicine, in a purpose-built teaching facility at the Flinders University building on the Casuarina Charles Darwin University campus.
