Anglicare NT – ReStore Opportunity Shop
After over 10 years, the Anglicare NT OpShop in Ludmilla will officially close its doors for the last time on Saturday 26 February 2022.
Regretfully, the impacts of COVID-19 and cheaper clothing options have made it unviable to keep the OpShop open.
For many visitors to the OpShop over the years, the store has felt more like a small community. Through the sale of second-hand items, the store sought to provide supports to those struggling financially. Resale of donated goods demonstrated our commitment to building a sustainable community and environment.
The OpShop would not have worked for so long without the care and generosity of our staff, volunteers, customers and donors. We thank you for your efforts over the years.
Anglicare NT – Volunteer Opportunities
Get Involved! Anglicare NT has a range of meaningful volunteer opportunities in key program areas.
The Community Visitors Scheme involves befriending and visiting a socially isolated older person living in an aged care facility or in their own home on a regular basis(minimum 1 hour per fortnight). Aged care recipients come from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds and Community Visitors of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.
Meals on Wheels volunteers in Alice Springs help make it possible for older people to stay living in their own home. Delivery of a meal and a quick chat makes living independently a possibility, preventing or delaying a transition into an aged care facility.
